About IV Therapy
What is IV hydration therapy?
+
IV hydration therapy is the infusion of fluids, vitamins, and minerals directly into your bloodstream via a small peripheral IV catheter placed in your arm. Because the nutrients bypass the digestive system, they are absorbed immediately and at 100% bioavailability — far more effective than oral supplements. It is a wellness service designed to support hydration, energy, immune function, and recovery.
Is IV therapy the same as medical IV treatment in a hospital?
+
While the delivery method (peripheral IV) is the same, wellness IV therapy differs significantly in purpose and context. Hospital IV treatment addresses acute medical conditions. IV wellness therapy is a preventative, supportive service focused on hydration, nutrition, and recovery — administered in a concierge setting. It is not a substitute for emergency or primary medical care.
What are the benefits of IV hydration compared to drinking water?
+
Oral hydration is limited by the digestive system's absorption capacity and can take hours to take effect. IV hydration delivers fluids and nutrients directly to your cells, bypassing digestion entirely. This results in faster, more complete rehydration — particularly beneficial when you're experiencing severe dehydration, nausea, or reduced ability to drink fluids.
How often can I receive IV therapy?
+
Most clients receive IV therapy once a month for general wellness maintenance, or as needed for recovery (hangover, illness, post-workout). Some clients in high-demand periods (travel, illness season) may schedule more frequently. Sheri will make personalized recommendations based on your health history and goals during your screening.
Safety & Eligibility
Is IV therapy safe?
+
Yes — when administered by a qualified licensed provider. At Hart 2 Heart, all services are performed by Sheri Hart, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Every session begins with a thorough health screening to confirm you are a safe candidate. Potential risks — including bruising at the IV site, phlebitis, rare allergic reactions, and fluid overload — are reviewed prior to treatment. No outcome is guaranteed.
Who should NOT receive IV therapy?
+
Clients with the following conditions may not be eligible without specific provider clearance: chronic kidney disease or eGFR below 60, end-stage renal disease or dialysis, congestive heart failure (CHF), history of fluid overload or pulmonary edema, liver failure or cirrhosis, uncontrolled hypertension, significant cardiac disease, or active infection requiring hospitalization. Sheri will review your health history carefully before proceeding.
Can I receive IV therapy if I am pregnant?
+
Yes — we offer Mama's Relief, a specially formulated drip containing only pregnancy-appropriate vitamins and fluids. Full disclosure of your pregnancy is required before treatment, and Sheri will conduct a thorough review to ensure safe administration. Mama's Relief is not a substitute for OB care and does not replace your prenatal team.
What are the potential risks or side effects?
+
IV therapy is generally well tolerated, but potential side effects include: pain, bruising, bleeding, or infection at the IV site; phlebitis or infiltration; nausea or headache during infusion; lightheadedness or fainting; fluid overload; allergic or adverse reactions to vitamins or medications; and in rare cases, nerve or vascular injury. Sheri will monitor you throughout the session and respond immediately to any adverse reaction.
Do I need to disclose all my medications and allergies?
+
Absolutely yes. All medications, supplements, vitamins, and known allergies must be disclosed during your pre-treatment screening. This information is critical for determining the safest formulation for your drip and preventing dangerous drug interactions or allergic reactions. All health information is kept strictly confidential in accordance with HIPAA.
Our Services
How do I choose the right drip for me?
+
Start with your primary goal: hydration → Essential Drip; hangover/illness recovery → Reset Drip; immune defense → Immune Boost; migraines/stress → Neuro Calm; pregnancy nausea → Mama's Relief; athletic performance → Athletes Edge. If you're unsure, Sheri can help you choose during your booking consultation. You can also
contact us before booking.
What ingredients are in the drips?
+
Common ingredients include: Normal Saline or Lactated Ringer's (base fluid), Vitamin B12, B-Complex, Vitamin C, Magnesium, Electrolytes, Ondansetron (Zofran) for nausea, and Ketorolac (Toradol) for inflammation — subject to medical screening and provider approval. All ingredients are pharmaceutical-grade and administered using sterile technique. Full ingredient disclosure occurs during your pre-treatment review.
How long does a session take?
+
Most IV drip sessions take between 45 and 60 minutes from setup to completion. This includes your health screening (~10 minutes), IV placement (~5 minutes), and the infusion itself (~30–45 minutes depending on the drip). You can relax, watch TV, work, or scroll your phone during your session.
Does the IV insertion hurt?
+
Most clients experience minimal discomfort — a small pinch or brief sting at the time of IV insertion, similar to a routine blood draw. Sheri is highly skilled in IV placement and takes care to minimize discomfort. Once the IV is in place, most clients feel no pain during the infusion.
Do you offer group or event sessions?
+
Yes! We offer group sessions for events such as bachelorette parties, post-race recovery, corporate wellness days, and more. Group bookings require advance scheduling and coordination. Please
contact us directly to discuss your group needs, availability, and pricing.

Payment
What forms of payment are accepted?
+
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Zelle, Venmo, and CashApp. Payment is typically collected at the time of service. We do not currently accept personal checks or invoicing.
Is IV therapy covered by health insurance?
+
IV hydration therapy is generally classified as a wellness service and is not covered by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. It is an out-of-pocket elective expense. Some HSA (Health Savings Account) or FSA (Flexible Spending Account) plans may cover it — we recommend checking with your plan administrator.
When is payment collected?
+
Payment is collected at the time of service, after your health screening and prior to or immediately following your IV infusion. We do not require a deposit at the time of booking, though we do ask for good-faith commitment to your appointment time.
After Your Session
How quickly will I feel the effects?
+
Many clients report feeling better during or immediately after their infusion — with notable improvement in energy, clarity, and hydration. The speed and degree of effects vary by individual, the specific drip received, and your baseline health status. Remember: IV therapy results may vary and no specific outcome is guaranteed.
Are there any restrictions after my session?
+
Most clients can resume normal activities immediately following their IV session. We recommend staying hydrated and avoiding intense physical exertion for a few hours post-infusion. If you received Toradol (Ketorolac), avoid NSAIDs and alcohol for 24 hours. Sheri will provide any specific aftercare instructions relevant to your drip at the time of service.
What if I experience side effects after my session?
+
Mild soreness or bruising at the IV site is common and will resolve on its own. If you experience symptoms such as persistent swelling, redness, warmth, or pain at the IV site — or any systemic symptoms such as fever, rash, difficulty breathing, or chest pain — contact a healthcare provider immediately or call 911. Do not hesitate to seek emergency care for any serious or worsening symptoms.
